TEACHING SCHEDULE

I have had the privilege of studying at ANI Art Academies Sri Lanka under Timothy Jahn's tutelage for nearly five years, beginning in 2019. This experience, my first with a foreign instructor, has been truly exceptional. Timothy's compassionate approach to teaching helped me unravel complex artistic concepts, emphasizing the importance of patience and practical experience. He is, in my opinion, an extraordinary individual, embodying the ideal of a teacher who lives and breathes art. His dedication extends far beyond the classroom, making art his life and life his art.

The knowledge I gained from him is invaluable, a constant source of strength and inspiration. I am incredibly proud to have been his student. The strong foundation in art he provided is something I deeply appreciate. His vast knowledge of the subject is remarkable, and anyone who has the opportunity to learn from him is truly fortunate. I am confident that Timothy will continue to nurture aspiring artists and shape many more successful artistic careers. He has the potential to usher in a golden era for art education.

For the past six years, I have had the privilege of studying under Timothy Jahn, whose guidance has shaped me not only as an artist but also as a professional. His expertise as a draftsman and painter is truly inspiring, but what sets him apart is his ability to teach beyond technique—he instills a deep understanding of aesthetics and the realities of the art world. Through his mentorship, I have gained invaluable knowledge that extends far beyond the studio. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to learn from him and for the impact he has had on my artistic journey.

DeTimothy Jahn is the most professional and well organized art teacher I've ever met. He constantly pushed me to the edge with new challenges and helped me reach my full potential.

Studying under him I gained the discipline to work consistently towards a goal. Moreover I learned to manage my time and solve any arising problem logically.

Tim Jahn has had a profound impact on my life, both as an artist and as a person. There is only one other person I can say this about, and that is the famed artist and teacher Michael Aviano.

Tim taught his students the skills to become excellent artists. He not only instilled in us technical skills, but thinking and problem solving skills as well. These skills are often overlooked by many schools and I believe that each artist must possess them to create freely. Tim also instilled in us a sense of always driving forward, to always keep pursuing our goals, no matter how hard it gets. I am convinced that had it not been for Tim Jahn's influence, I would not be the artist I am today.

I feel that the artwork of those who have been taught by Tim have works that stand out from the rest of the drawings and paintings one finds in the art world today. I have had the great good fortune to have been taught by Tim Jahn. I will always be indebted to him.

I have had the privilege of studying under Timothy W. Jahn for six years, beginning in 2018.  His instruction has been invaluable in developing my skills with charcoal and oil painting.  I especially appreciate his approach of recognizing each student's individual talents and encouraging them to explore and grow within their preferred themes.  I highly recommend Timothy W. Jahn to any aspiring artist seeking to refine their abilities.

My apprenticeship with Timothy Jahn was an overall positive and fulfilling experience. His teaching method was well-structured and regimented, which was exactly what I was looking for.  I also felt supported creatively and motivated to challenge my skills and push myself daily.

The best part was being able to experience the daily growth in visual understanding and seeing the development of skill in each mark I made. The confidence he exhibited in his artistic skills and enthusiasm for developing strong concepts for his own studio practice was also very inspiring.

Timothy Jahn is an exceptional teacher who I highly recommend.. 

Some of Tim’s teaching strengths include an innate ability to figure out where a student's weaknesses are and find efficient, simple exercises for methodically working through and improving them. Tim very much meets students where they are at in their artistic development. Tim also possesses a wide range of knowledge and interests about many different types of art and learning styles, and is capable of guiding students in their individual goals as an artist. He is a creative thinker and thrives on encouraging students to think outside the box and push themselves as individuals. He is capable of working with students both young and old, at all skill levels. Tim also is a generous support for students working through tough milestones of artistic development. 

Tim brings a teaching enthusiasm and diversity that I have never experienced with any other teacher. He is both the most fun and most challenging teacher I’ve ever had; he provides an exciting and amusing teaching  environment but will also push you hard when the tasks get difficult. This is because he desires so deeply to help students reach their full potential. You cannot find a more giving, collaborative, capable and hilarious art teacher.
