Confronting Doubt: Two Cologne Bottles Study

Alla Prima "Two Cologne Bottles Study" Timothy W. Jahn

Today, I completed a 6 x 8 oil on panel painting titled "Two Cologne Bottles." This study was inspired by a dip in my mood yesterday, a reminder that as creatives, we all experience ups and downs. No matter how long I've been making art, imposter syndrome still finds its way into my thoughts.

As I was setting up the still life, I imagined the bottles as symbols of an internal struggle. One bottle stood triumphant, representing the fight against fear and doubt. This painting session became a cathartic experience, allowing me to channel my emotions and regain a sense of balance.

Sharing this piece with you feels like a victory over those moments of self-doubt. I've included some close-up images to highlight the brushwork and details that bring this narrative to life.

Thank you for being part of this journey. Your support and understanding mean the world to me.
