Confronting Embracing Challenges: Capers and Olives Study
Today, I completed a 6 x 9 oil on panel painting titled "Capers and Olives." This piece was a good challenge, part of my ongoing exploration of premier coup (alla prima) paintings. Each work in this series presents unique and intriguing challenges that push my skills and creativity.
Throughout the process, the painting goes through several stages where it feels as if it's not quite coming together. But then, almost magically, the whole image begins to feel more integrated and cohesive. It's a journey of persistence and trust in the process.
Iām noticing that my brushwork is becoming more natural and unforced with each painting. This evolution brings a sense of satisfaction and joy to my practice. Sharing some close-up images to highlight the brushwork and details that emerged from this challenge.
Thank you for following along on this artistic journey. Your support and engagement mean a lot to me.
