Exploring Complementary Colors: Limes and Apple Study

Alla Prima "Limes and Apple Study" Timothy W. Jahn

Today's painting, a 5 x 4 inch oil on panel titled "Limes and Apple," was an enriching challenge. In this premier coup piece, I aimed to arrange a composition of complementary colors within a tight value range to test my control and precision.

The process was both demanding and enjoyable. I focused on the play of edges and the dynamic interaction of colors in the fabric surrounding the fruit. This exercise not only tested my skills but also deepened my understanding of color relationships and value control.

Each painting is a step forward in my artistic journey, and I'm grateful for your support and engagement along the way.
