Foreshortened Spark Plugs: A Test of Skill and Precision
Today's painting, "Foreshortened Spark Plugs," presented the most challenging drawing obstacle I've faced in this series so far. The smaller scale of the objects combined with the difficulty of the angle turned this piece into a true test of skill.
As I worked through the composition, I found myself fully engaged in the process, carefully considering each mark and the dynamics of lost and found edges. There was a sense of satisfaction in the way the paint handled on the panel, as well as in the subtle shifts between focus and blur. The finished piece has a slightly modern feel, which added an interesting layer to the overall composition.
Reflecting on the process, it was a rewarding experience—pushing my technical abilities while also allowing room for creative exploration. This piece reminded me once again of the joy found in tackling complex subjects and seeing them come to life on the panel.
